Nonsensically Nordic

Ah, Nordic countries.

Lovely bunch.

Good bless them, earnest, whit skinned, beautiful women, crafty cheap crappy furniture, addicted to 'rb' and 'BA' rating, strange food, strange/ frustrating language, strange almost everything..

However I will never forgive them for introducing the world to one of the worst experiences that anyone has to endure. Something so horrible that the Nordic region should have almost been ex comunicated from the interanational community for decades for its horror.

Super Virus? Weapon of Mass destruction? You might ask?

Well, sorta. few things are as terrible in this world than having to listen to ABBA, or even worse listen to people listen to ABBA.

and the fact that when they talk in native tongue, it sounds like they have a mouth full of wasps, oysters and vodka and carrying on nonsensically.

But. Great brewers.

Take Norway for example, small in stature and thin in impact, but boy some of their brewers know how to master the mumbo.

And now there is HaandBryggeriet and their collection of well thought out hybrid takes on the world of brews and what lies around them.


We currently received their:

Norwegian Wood - Traditional Ale.
Good Force - Imperial Wheat Ale / Wheat Wine.
Haandbic - Lambic that has rested in oak barrels for 18 months.
Røyk Uten Ild (Smoke Without Fire) - Rauchbier.

And OF COURSE their

Dobbel Dose IPA - Imperial IPA.

For all you people who seem to be slopping down IPA's quicker than you can say George Hodgson, or faster than Judas with wine at the 'The Last Supper'.

We also received some of Keith's Oyster Stout, From Hunter Beer Company

Keith's is one of the most thorough and intelligent brewers out there and when I think I might know a little about beer, Keith always puts me in my place. He is genuine and one of the nicest guys in the beer community, which is odd why he thinks I'm OK, because I'm ignorant, opinionated, inconsiderate and basically if I'm honest, a bit of a punk.

If rockin Oysters with Stout gets you swinging then this is the beer for you.

Sticky roasted mocha with a hint of salty soy-ness about it etc, etc...

I love oysters so much and some times I can overboard eating them especially when made different ways.

One of my ex girlfriends hated it when I overdosed on oysters, because. well, you know.

As the famous saying goes, "twas a brave first man to have a pint of stout with oysters".

Mike Jorgansen's, (boy God I hope I spelt that right, or ill have to work on my Scandinavian surname spelling skills!!!) After Battle Ale is back in after being guzzled by many a person in good taste.

Like always their $10 for 650ml or (The Great Australian) 3 fa' $25.

Now Mike does not endorse, post drinking his beers; invading other villages, stealing, taring down houses and using them in bon fires and enslaving local women as beer wenches.

However, New Zealand is looking considerably vulnerable at the moment...MMMMMMMM

Oh Say Can You See..

It has arrived.
You shall proceed in graciously attending either of our two stores, smile, possibly cry and then consume.
No other beer related venue in Sydney is bringing you the American Craft Beer that is about to grace our shelves.

NONE.

Unfortunately this means no more Rogue, but with this line up, really, Who cares?
This line up of brews is so good that if some other self proclaimed peers in the Sydney Beer Community had this caliber of beer turning up, their PR marketing department would be spinning so hard they would have a spot in each 'Good Living', 'Masterchef and a date at 'A Currant Affair' with Tracey Grimeshaw or God forbid create an Iphone app.
